Guest Farm Tour

Day 1 Windhoek

Having arrived at the International Airport, you
collect your vehicle at the relevant car rental
company kiosk. In Windhoek, your quiet and
comfortable Guest House is situated next to
a dry riverbed, making the garden a birders
paradise. Although it is located in a quiet
suburb you have access to a large shopping
centre within close proximity. Enjoy the day at
leisure making use of the secluded courtyard
with swimming pool.
Jordani Guest House

Day 2 Kalahari Region 290km

After breakfast travel south to a typical
Namibian guest farm situated in the Kalahari
Desert, where red sand, blue skies and
wholehearted hospitality welcome you in a
rustic, and historical accommodation. Enjoy
typical ‘Afrikaans” cuisine. Most of the produce
is grown on the farm so you are able to
enjoy fresh, organic wholesome food. Your
accommodation houses a museum reflecting
the traditional Afrikaans culture; enjoy learning
about the history of these people who arrived
here in the 19th century.

Day 3 Keetmanshoop 280km

After a leisurely breakfast travel via Mariental
to Keetmanshoop. Along the way visit the
Quiver Tree Forest and Giant’s Playground,
a jumble of massive boulders that appear to
have been placed like building blocks. Your
accommodation for the night, the old Hansa
Hotel that dates back to 1910, is situated in
the heart of Keetmanshoop. Inspired by its
historical charm, the guesthouse has been
renovated to reflect the original comfort and
“luxury” of the pioneering days and offers true
Namibian hospitality.

Day 4 Fish River Canyon 160km

Travelling further south, we pass the Naute Dam, Namibia’s second largest man-made
lake, into the Gondwana Canon Park. Look
out for springbok, gemsbok, hartebeest, ostrich
and mountain zebra.
Visit the main viewing point of the Fish River
Canyon, the second largest canyon on Earth.
Enjoy home-style cooking at its best – 70% of
the dairy, vegetable, chicken and meat products
originate from a Self Sufficiency Centre that is
run by the local inhabitants.
Canon Roadhouse (B)

Day 5, 6 Aus Region 300km

This morning we cross the Fish River and
travel to Aus, situated in the most specie
diverse succulent desert on Earth! This is
a landscape of massive granite mountains
and sweeping desert plains, inhabited by the
famous Wild Horses of the Namib. Either
explore the Park itself or visit the coastal town
of Luderitz, where you can visit the ghost town
of Kolmanskop and Diaz Cross. Back at your
lodge, relax with a sundowner on the wooden
deck before enjoying dinner in the evening.
Klein Aus Vista (B)

Day 7 Helmeringhausen 135km

After breakfast you travel north through the
pre-Namib Desert plains to your guest farm,
situated in the mountainous terrain of one of
Namibia’s most pristine wilderness areas. Visit
an old copper mine or enjoy the fascinating
scenery when exploring the area on a walk
or nature drive offered by the farmer himself.
Take pleasure in listening to old Namibian
tales while chatting around the comfortable
family table.

Day 8, 9 Sossusvlei Region 280km

Your journey takes you to the Sossusvlei region.
Here you find the awe-inspiring, monumental
high star-shaped dunes that fascinate and
impress with their colourful tints contrasting
vividly with the dazzling white surfaces of the
underlying clay pans. Take your time exploring
Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei and the Sesriem gorge.
Your Guest Farm, one of the oldest in Namibia,
is situated at the foot of the Naukluft Mountains
and offers you true Namibian hospitality and
a cosy atmosphere. The farm specializes in
walking as well as horse trails.
Ababis Guest farm (B, D)

Please note this tour is also offered on a
15 day / 14 Night basis, excluding Kalahari
Desert (Day 2), Keetmanshoop (Day 3), Fish
River Canyon (Day 4), Klein Aus Vista (Day
5, 6) and Helmeringhausen (Day 7).
Tour starts with overnight Windhoek and
continues to the Sossusvlei Region as per
the itinerary from Day 8 onwards.

Day 10, 11 Swakopmund 260km

After breakfast travel via the Ghaub and Kuiseb
Passes to the coastal town of Swakopmund,
popular for its old-world charm and relaxed
atmosphere. Architecture from a bygone era
in contrast to the African desert surrounds add
character to this tourist market and several
coffee shops. Your pension, built in farmstyle
with a very personal atmosphere, is
situated close to the beach as well as shops
and a variety of restaurants. The idyllic town
offers an array of fun activities, which you can
optionally partake in during the afternoon or
the following day.
Orange House (B)

Day 12, 13 Usakos 165km

Leaving the Atlantic coast behind us, we travel
inland to the Erongo Mountains, the largest
example of a volcanic skeleton on earth! Your
Guest Farm is situated close to a variety of
attractions such as Bushman paintings, the
“Bull’s Party” rock formations and the Phillip’s
Cave. Various game species roam free in an
area that is marked by huge granite boulders
and vegetated ephemeral river systems.
During the hottest part of the day you can relax
at the pool and admire the surrounding area.
Ameib Ranch (B, D)

Day 14 Damaraland 405km

Your journey continues towards the north
west to a guest farm situated on the southwestern
edge of the Etosha National Park.
Feast on culinary Namibian game specialities
and the highest standards of personal service.
Activities include game drives & nature walks.
You can also visit a nearby traditional Himba
village to learn more about the traditions and
cultures of one of the last remaining truly
nomadic peoples of Africa.

Day 15 Etosha National Park 180km

After a leisurely breakfast travel towards the
Etosha National Park, where your guest farm
is situated within the mopane plains of northern
Namibia. Situated just 30 minutes drive from
the Anderson Gate, your accommodation is the
perfect stop over to sit back, relax and recapture
the beauty that you have experienced on your
travels through the vast and beautiful country
to date. The meaning of the word “Vreugde” is
joy or happiness and that is exactly what they
strive to offer their guests. Come and enjoy
the peaceful tranquillity as you relax in the
beautiful garden, while your hosts pamper you
and take care of your every need. Experience
real Namibian style farming activities or take
an exciting game drive on a nearby Game

Day 16, 17 Etosha National Park 350km


This morning your road takes you into the
famous Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s
most diverse and most celebrated wildlife
reserves. The Park hosts a vast array of bird
and wildlife that frequent a series of waterholes
along the southern edge of the Etosha Pan.
You are nearly guaranteed spectacular game
viewing. Some of the rare and endangered
animals you may come across are black and
white rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant
as well as antelope species such as blackfaced
impala and the elusive eland, the world’s
largest antelope. Before sunset you travel back
to your resort within the park to enjoy some
more game viewing at the flood-lit waterhole.
Etosha Rest Camp (B)

Day 18, 19 Waterberg Region 400km

After breakfast you travel into the mining centre
of Namibia. Visit Lake Otjikoto, one of only two
natural lakes found in Namibia; with a depth of
over 100 meters it is also the deepest lake in
Namibia. Continue to your guest farm, which lies
at the foot of the majestic Waterberg Plateau.
Apart from the comfortable accommodation,
the guest farm offers a variety of traditional
Namibian dishes as well as mouth-watering
barbecues. Activities include nature drives,
game viewing as well as scenic walking trails.

Day 20 Windhoek Region 240km

After breakfast, travel south towards Windhoek.
You can stroll through the large craft markets
in Okahandja en route to your Guest Farm,
situated in close vicinity of the international
airport. While being spoilt with true Namibian
cuisine and hospitality, you also have the
opportunity to enjoy a game drive on the
property where you may come across animals
such as kudu, oryx, hartebeest and warthog.
