Overview
Chief's Camp is a luxury bush camp situated on Chief's Island in the exclusive Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana. In this "predator capital of Africa", wild dog, lion, cheetah and leopard abound, and guests enjoy exceptional opportunities to interact with this amazing environment. Since the introduction of white rhino into the area, this is the only place in Botswana where these magnificent animals can be seen in their natural environment.
Chief's Camp has been so skillfully integrated into the landscape that guests can often view game without even leaving camp. Shaded from the heat of the day by a beautiful grove of jackalberry trees, Chief's Camp is so remote you'll feel like the only humans for miles and miles.
Game viewing opportunities include daily excursions in open-sided 4x4 vehicles and quiet mokoro excursions along narrow Delta channels during the flood season (subject to water levels). Expert guides are always on hand to offer a wealth of wildlife knowledge, to help you make the most of these rare and wonderful opportunities.
Accommodation:
The camp, constructed on a green-field site, comprises of Twelve secluded, permanent luxury bush pavilions designed for ultimate privacy and comfort. Three with king beds and nine with twin beds. Each pavillion boasts a spacious seating area and private game viewing deck with hammock. En-suite facilities include an indoor and outdoor shower.
Each room is equipped with a hairdryer, ceiling fan, in-room safe, emergency intercom and minibar. The main lodge complex houses the dining area, bar, curio shop, library and reception area. This structure was built into the existing landscape, under a heavy canopy of mature Jackalberry, Sausage and Rain trees.
The main deck area is split-level and offers expansive views over the floodplain to the north. The lower level of the deck houses the swimming pool. A range of spa treatments are offered in a new individual spa facility.
